Welcome to the Chidokai International Community
The Chidokai International Community is an independent, strictly apolitical, non-profit network that brings together Dojos, instructors and practitioners who share a common passion for traditional Karatedo and deep attachment to the original heritage and teachings of Chidokan karatedo.
Our community is not a governing federation, but an open and friendly platform dedicated to preserving, practicing, and transmitting the spirit, technical richness, philosophy, and human values inherited from the original Chidokan tradition and its historical development.
We welcome Dojos, organizations, and individual practitioners who sincerely practice — or aspire to practice — the technical forms, spirit, and principles rooted in the Chidokan/Chidokai lineage.
Guided by the principles of Open Mindedness, Continuous Improvement, and the Joy of Practice, the Chidokai International Community promotes mutual respect, friendship, technical exchange, and personal growth through Karate.
Our mission is to honor, preserve, and perpetuate the living legacy of traditional Chidokan Karate while fostering harmony, cooperation, and sharing of a heritage enriched by each practioner and dojo throughout the world.

Our Aims
Our mission is to:
-
preserve and promote Chidokan’s heritage, its techniques, kihon, and unique teaching method,
-
organize seminars and training sessions,
-
support instructors in their teaching journey,
-
connect practitioners across borders through shared practice and mutual respect.

Our Values
Open Mindedness – Constant Readiness to Learn
Inspired by the spirit of Shoshin
At the Chidokai International Community, we approach learning with openness, curiosity and humility. Whatever our experience or level, there is always something new to discover. Keeping an open mind allows us to grow, refine our practice and continue developing both as martial artists and as individuals.
Continuous Improvement – One Step at a Time
Inspired by the principle of Kaizen
We believe in continuous and progressive improvement. Every training session is an opportunity to move forward — through a better technique, a deeper understanding or simply greater awareness. Over time, these small steps shape not only our karate, but also our character and our approach to life.
The Joy of Practice – Training with Passion
The spirit of Tanoshisa
Karate is not built on discipline alone. We believe that enjoyment, enthusiasm and friendship are essential parts of practice. Training with passion brings energy and meaning to repetition, creating a practice that is both demanding and rewarding.
